Guar gum powder is, in many ways, the invisible ingredient of the food industry, according to exhibitor Agro Gums, yet it is found in significant numbers of products because of its multinational ability to act as a thickener, emulsifier, gelling agent, stabiliser, bounding, agent, moisture – resisting agent, natural fiber, texturing agent and fracturing agent, Guar gum powder is a popular food ingredient because it is cold water soluble, and is both natural and easy to use.

Multifunctional guar gum

Cassia gum is a natural gelling agent which on its own is not able to make a gel. It is, however, able to create a gel with carrageenan, agar agar and xanthan gum making it a very cost – effective ingredient. Cassia gum is widely used in wet canned pet food products to improve texture and stability, but recently cassia gum powder has been approved for use in human food in Europe – providing a new opportunity for manufactures.

Agro Gums also exports guar meal (guar churi, guar kurma) which contains 35 – 50% protein, and cassia meal which contain 30% protein for the cattle feed and poultry industries. Also exported are guar – refined split, cassia tora split and cassia tora seed (the latter being used as tea or coffee in many countries.)
